Google announced on Wednesday that it has launched a mini AI game on Tencent's WeChat, a multi-function messaging app with over one billion users.

The game, named Caihua Xiaoge in Chinese, is similar to Google's web game "Quick, Draw!", which requires players to draw a simple sketch of the named object in a limited time of 20 seconds.
If the Google AI figures out what the player has drawn, the player progresses to the next round. Players can also share achievements on WeChat and compete with friends over the number of drawings finished.
Google said in its official introduction of the mini programme that Caihua Xiaoge is driven by the Google AI neural network, which possesses a database of more than 50 million sketches from users.
The large amount of drawings were collected on "Quick, Draw!", between November 2017 when the web-version game was launched, and May 2018, stated Google, noting that the game aims not only to give users a happy experience but also help computers learn how to paint.
Caihua Xiaoge is the first mini game offered by the search engine in mainland China, where most Google services such as Gmail, Google Maps and Google search have not been available since 2010.
However, the California-based tech giant has made several attempts to return to the most populous market, announcing last November its plan to build an AI centre in Beijing.
