The Nigerian Army has debunked allegations that troops invaded the home of the IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu and killed three persons as reported in the social media.
In a press statement released by the 14 brigade’s assistant director of public relations, Major Oyegoke Gbadamosi, he said the troops were attacked by hoodlums, throwing bottles and stones at their van. He also released pictures and videos confirming these claims.
He added that a soldier and a female passerby who were injured during the attack are currently receiving treatment at the unit’s medical inspection room.
Major Gbadamosi Warned all mischief makers threatening the peace and security of the nation to desist from falsehood urging all members of the public to go about their lawful businesses and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or security outfit.
